Enhancing the interior of an art collector’s stylish 60’s house

We were very excited to be asked by the owner of this 1960’s ‘ranch’ house designed by Austin Vernon and Partners on a peaceful estate in Dulwich to renew his kitchen and design a bespoke storage wall between two bedrooms. The owner collects pottery and was keen that the designs also incorporate elegant ways to display his artefacts.

The proposals take inspiration from the mid-century design cues in the house with its sloping ceilings and glazed windows between rooms offering framed views through the house and beyond into the landscape. Materials include elm veneered birch ply joinery, concrete worktops, white washed hardwood and sumptuous velvet.
